Biomarker Candidates for Clinical Omics and Nutrigenomics

Inferences of Novel Biomarker Candidate Functions

Biomarkers as tools for clinical diagnosis are being discovered in the researches of Clinical Omics and Nutrigenomics. An intelligent system to reason the functional relationships between biomarker candidates and clinical disorders is desirable for selection and prioritization purposes of newly found biomarker candidates.

BiomarkerCandidatesSM infers possible functional relationships between user-specified biomarker candidates and any keywords by connecting pieces of information described in multiple medical documents including Medline, OMIM, PPIs.

Retrieves Chemicals from Phenotypic Words or Phrases

BiomarkerCandidatesSM is based on our world’s-first technology called “Full-text Inferential Search Engine.” Firstly, it performs a full-text search of all the documents including MEDLINE against arbitrary keywords users have entered. Secondly, it finds significant chemical names that exist within the matched documents with statistical tests and makes a ranked list of the names. And thirdly, it displays a list of the chemicals as biomarker candidates associated to the keywords. (i.e., connections of Keyword => Biomarker).

Simultaneously, BiomarkerCandidatesSM searches for related biomarkers via estimated gene-chemical relationships, and shows connections of Keyword => Gene/Protein => Biomarker. Thus, BiomarkerCandidatesSM intelligently assists your choice of candidate biomarkers from various functional keywords or phrases.
